Invoke Agents
Invoke agents from the command line, application code, HTTP clients, or AI tools. Use the guides below to choose an invocation method and expose your application to clients.
Choose an invocation method
- REST API: invoke an agent method through the Golem REST API.
- CLI: invoke methods, trigger background work, and schedule invocations.
- REPL: explore agents interactively during development.
- MCP: expose agents to clients that use the Model Context Protocol.
- External bridge libraries: generate typed clients for applications outside Golem.
- Custom HTTP APIs: map HTTP endpoints to agent methods.
- Authentication: secure endpoints and identify callers with OpenID Connect.
- HTTP routers and files: handle requests with a router or serve static and agent files.
- Router and file semantics: understand routing precedence, authentication, and file-serving behavior.
- Durable Streams over HTTP: read and write streams for long-running invocations.
- Compatibility and limitations: check supported protocol features and client behavior.
- Forking Durable Streams: create an independent branch at an exact stream prefix.
- Troubleshooting: resolve deployment and routing errors.
